Punjab Fisheries Department is responsible for the Conservation, Management and Development of Natural Fisheries resources through
the enforcement of Punjab Fisheries Ordinance and Rules, promote Aquaculture practices in private sector to bridge gap of protein deficiency
in the diet of common man, provide white meat to improve the health of people, utilize the untapped Fisheries resources to obtain maximum
production, increase our share in the national economy.

Captain (Retd.) JavedAkbar has joined as Secretary Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries Department Punjab on 29-11-2013. Earlier he was working as Member Planning & Development Department Punjab. Captain (Retd.) Javed Akbar has also served as Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Board of Investment and as Commercial Consular in Netherlands.
Dr. Muhammad Ayub rejoined the Department of Fisheries, Punjab on 28-07-2013 as Director General Fisheries Punjab after completion of deputation period of 3 year as Director INFOFISH based at kuala Lumpur Malaysia. He has a vast International/National experience in the filed of fisheries management, research and development etc. He is amongst the eminent Fisheries Scientists of the country.
